  • Natural Stone

Time tested and approved, stone has been crafted into man's legacy like no other building material throughout history. Whether it be found in the Pyramids in Egypt, the Great Wall of China, aqueducts and streets of the Roman Empire, or simply the humble fireplace in your living room, stone is known for its beauty, longevity, and prestige.

  • Boulders

Landscape boulders are used in a variety of ways from accent pieces in a landscape setting to the construction of a waterfall or streambed. Most boulders range in size from 12″ to 48″ in diameter. They can be either round and smooth or a “jagged” quarried stone.

Please Note: Natural Stone is just that, 'Natural'.

While we try to show the best representation of color, size and texture in our photos, we always recommend choosing your stone selections in person. Stone colors, sizes, shapes and textures may vary from time to time. For more information, please contact one of our Dirt depot Specialists.

Natural Stone Thin Veneer

is a true natural stone that is cut thin, usually 3/4″ to 1 - 1/4″, and therefore lightweight compared to regular veneer stone. This allows for less prep time and easier installation resulting in cost savings for the end user. Because of the light weight of the material, it can be used in remodeling projects in existing homes or buildings without the support required for regular veneer stone. Compared to manufactured stone, thin veneer offers the quality, durability, and unique beauty of natural stone. It can be installed on most any type of constructed wall or surface including exterior framed walls, concrete masonry walls, and interior framed walls.
Dirt Depot offers a wide variety of colors and types of Natural Stone Thin Veneer which are available in both flats and natural corners. We continue to explore and develop new stone sources for thin stone veneer to offer you the most complete line available.

Decomposed Granite

Decomposed granite is generally like gravel, but finer and generally much more stable. It’s formed from the natural wear and tear and erosion of strong granite, a tough igneous rock. The decomposed granite (DG) marketed as landscape material is typically made up of 3/8-inch (or smaller sized) particles; some may be no larger than a grain of sand. Color consist of rust, pick or brown

The Longevity-Inducing Benefits of Mulch

Even Your Soil Needs Shelter

Mulch provides several beneficial elements to your garden. Mulch continuously breaks down and feeds the microbes in your soil. It provides a cover to slow down soil evaporation up to 75%. This reduces the need for watering and keeps root systems cooler in the Summer and warmer in the Winter.

Weeds, Disease, and Mental Health

Mulching beds will have fewer weeds since a 2-inch layer of mulch will reduce sunlight to the soil, which helps block weeds from growing. Mulch also helps suppress diseases by keeping plants healthier and more immune to diseases. Overall, mulch helps deduce plant stress by regulates temperatures and increases beneficial microbes in the soil.

In summary, mulch:

  1. Is an essential part of any landscape

  2. Retains moisture in soils

  3. Provides aesthetics

  4. Continually breaks down providing organic matter for your soil to help maintain soil health

  5. Suppresses weeds

  6. Keeps roots warmer in the Winter and cooler in Summer
